First major project is the WiiKart. The WiiKart is a simple vehicle robot that can be controlled via Nintendo Wiimote like a steering wheel. A robot is constructed using the Vex Robotics kit and equipped with wireless communication. A program we have provided as part of the NRS will be installed on the robot to take commands from a nearby PC (the server) using the wireless communication. You will also be writing a program for the server which interfaces with the Nintendo Wiimote, and relays commands to the robot.
Below is a video of a completed WiiKart in action. Steering is accomplished by tilting the wiimote left and right like a steering wheel. The server PC is off-camera to the left.
